Job Description:
Our client, a leader in the environmental sector with operations in both the public and private sectors, is seeking a qualified Dam Engineer to join their team. This role involves working on a variety of water-related projects across South Africa, with a focus on small and large dam construction and maintenance. The position is primarily based in Ramsgate, Durban, with occasional travel required to various project sites.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design, plan, and oversee the construction and maintenance of dams and other water-related structures.
• Conduct site assessments and analyze data to ensure structural integrity and environmental compliance.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including environmental scientists, hydrologists, and construction managers.
• Manage project budgets, timelines, and resources effectively.
• Prepare detailed engineering reports and documentation.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or a related field.
• Professional Engineer (PrEng) registration is preferred.
• A minimum of 5 years of experience in dam engineering or related projects.
• Strong knowledge of dam safety regulations, hydrology, and environmental standards.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
• Willingness to travel as required.
