Overview

Centurion Careers has built a trusted partnership with a UK-based employer over the past two years, successfully placing several South African candidates who continue to excel within the company.

We are seeking a professional and detail-oriented Mortgage Paraplanner to join the team remotely from South Africa. The successful candidate will support UK-based mortgage advisers by conducting research, preparing documentation, and managing applications from start to completion while ensuring compliance with UK regulations.

This role offers a stable, full-time opportunity within an international environment, paid in South African Rand through a locally set-up payroll system.

Key Responsibilities

1. Case Preparation & Research

• Conduct research across multiple UK mortgage lenders and products.

• Assess affordability, income structures, and lending options (residential, buy-to-let, expat, etc.).

• Prepare detailed recommendation reports, lender comparisons, and Key Facts Illustrations (KFIs).

• Liaise with lenders to verify product and policy details.

2. Application Management

• Prepare, submit, and track mortgage and protection applications through to completion.

• Resolve any issues proactively to ensure smooth processing.

• Maintain accurate and compliant case files on the CRM system.

• Communicate effectively with clients, lenders, solicitors, and advisers.

3. Compliance & Technical Support

• Ensure all client files meet FCA compliance standards and internal policies.

• Stay updated on lender criteria and product changes.

• Support advisers with pre-underwriting checks, income verification, and documentation.

• Identify and escalate potential compliance risks.

4. Reporting & Process Improvement

• Produce reports on pipeline activity, completions, and performance metrics.

• Contribute to process improvements and documentation updates.

• Assist with onboarding and support of junior team members when required.

Skills & Experience Required

• Minimum 2 years’ experience in mortgage administration, case management, or paraplanning.

• Strong understanding of UK mortgage products and processes.

• Working knowledge of FCA regulations.

• Excellent attention to detail, analytical ability, and problem-solving skills.

• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

• Proficient in mortgage sourcing tools such as Twenty7Tec, Trigold, or Mortgage Brain.

• Ability to manage multiple cases independently in a remote environment.

Qualifications (Preferred but Not Essential)

• CeMAP qualification (Certificate in Mortgage Advice and Practice) or currently studying toward it.

• Prior experience within a mortgage brokerage, IFA, or financial advisory firm.
