Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Financial Officer to manage the financial and payroll operations of a growing security services company based in Centurion. The successful candidate will be responsible for financial management, payroll processing, compliance, and providing financial support to management and operations.

Key Responsibilities

Financial Management

Oversee day-to-day financial operations of the company
Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports
Manage budgets, forecasts, and financial planning
Monitor cash flow and control company expenditure
Ensure accurate recording of all financial transactions
Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable
Provide financial analysis and decision-making support to management

Payroll Management

Prepare and process weekly and monthly payroll for security guards and office staff
Ensure accurate calculation of wages, overtime, allowances, deductions, and bonuses
Maintain payroll records with strict confidentiality
Ensure compliance with labour laws, tax regulations, and statutory deductions
Handle payroll-related queries and resolve discrepancies
Prepare payroll reports for management and auditors

Compliance & Internal Controls

Ensure compliance with financial regulations, tax laws, and company policies
Prepare and submit statutory returns (e.g. PAYE, UIF, SDL, pensions)
Liaise with auditors, banks, and regulatory bodies
Implement, monitor, and maintain internal financial controls

Administrative & Operational Support

Support contract costing and pricing for security service contracts
Monitor profitability of client contracts
Assist with asset management and inventory control
Provide financial input into operational and strategic planning

Minimum Requirements

Relevant qualification in Finance, Accounting, or similar
Proven experience in a Financial Officer or similar role
Payroll experience (security industry experience will be advantageous)
Strong knowledge of South African labour and tax legislation
High level of accuracy, confidentiality, and attention to detail
Strong analytical and reporting skills
